People often say – what do you do in a normal week Steve? So here’s a list of what Breakfast Club did in our communities last week:
Monday
- 7.30am Glen Innes School Breakfast Club
- Uplift grocery credits from New World Eastridge
- St Kentigern School ring Breakfast Club to offer a set of goal posts. I never say no…. but no idea what to do with them! Call around and deliver them to a very grateful Glen Taylor School.
- Uplift 30 plastic pallets from Abes Bagels for our Whakatane farmer in exchange for a ‘pig for the Hangi’ this week at Glen Innes School
- Sort Grocery Credits from New World Eastridge, PaknSave Ormiston and New World Southmall using student volunteer help from St Kentigern College
- Prepare and deliver a food hamper to Clevedon for a refugee family in need
Tuesday
- 7am Randwick Park School Breakfast Club
- Rotary Auckland East deposit $2,700 into our Bank account which was not expected. Now our van can get serviced.
- Uplift 20 more plastic pallets for our Whakatane Farmer and 10 for Glen Taylor School.
- 11am Uplift chiller/frozen credits from Eastridge New World
- 11.30am Deliver hamper to Orakei address
- 12pm Uplift lost property at Elim Junior Campus
- 1pm Meeting at Bendon East Tamaki re taking 50 Year 8 girls there
Wednesday
- 7am Randwick Park Breakfast Club
- Uplift two Champagne Hams and Tropical Coleslaw for the Polynesian Fono (family event) at Glen Innes School to feed 200 people. Donated with our huge thanks by Gattings Caterers.
- Uplift drinks and sweets from Eastridge New World for Polynesian Fono. We couldn’t do it without you!
- Attend Polynesian Fono to carve the ham and serve guests their dinner.
Thursday
- 7am Randwick Park School Breakfast Club
- Uplift Hangi vegetables and chickens for the Hangi for 300 guests on Friday at Glen Innes School. Thanks again Eastridge New World!
- Drinks for 300 also sponsored by Eastridge New World
- Uplift grocery Credits from PaknSave Ormiston
- HealthPak call to offer Coffee, Soap and Shampoo for Food Drive – they say jump, we say how high!
- Attend BLK Clothing Sale at Epsom Showgrounds with $300+ worth of clothing donated by BLK to Breakfast Club athletes and volunteers – Te Ahiwaru (Nelson, Mako Development Squad, Under 20 Maori), Harrison (Glen Innes School, Auckland Rugby age group), and more.
Friday
- Uplift grocery Credits from Ormiston PaknSave and Southmall New World. Without their support we couldn’t do what we do!
- Glen Taylor School bakery drop off
- Donate a large quantity of groceries and frozen food to a Samoan Funeral
- Abes Bagels call to offer two pallets of Bagel Crisps – yay!
- Help prepare and serve the Hangi to all the school kids and their families to celebrate Matariki Week at Glen Innes School
- Requests for Hampers (10) for a number of Glen Innes families through working with scool social workers, and one donated through our network with Tamaki Family Health Doctors in Panmure
- Make up 10 Hampers for Massey (West Auckland), Te Puke and Kaeo (Northland). Much of our work is now on the outskirts of Auckland where poorer families are moving to, and into small impoverished towns.
Saturday
- Uplift grocery credits from Southmall New World
- Attend 1st XV game St Kentigern v Dilworth to watch former Randwick Park School student Nathanael Laufiso play a blinder!
Sunday
- Nothing much at all !
