On the 23rd of December 2016, we are holding our annual Christmas Store at Glen Innes School. The Social Worker’s and Principals at four of our schools, and our invited Charity Vaka Tautua – have selected 100 families and invited them to attend.
Every family will receive about $500 worth of groceries (including a bone Ham) and every child will receive a present (thanks to the Christmas Box http://aucklandshoeboxchristmas.co.nz) . Also we are setting up for the Children:
- Facepainting
- Icecreams
- Drinks
- Hot Dogs
- Games
After the mothers have completed their shopping they will go to a Pamper Area, where thanks to Gattings Caterers, they will be able to relax and enjoy their time.
We have 50 volunteers that have given of their time on this day, and all we need now is financial support to make this event happen.
In 2015 we invited 50 families to this store, and we intend to double this in 2016. Already we have support from:
- New World Eastridge & Southmall
- Pak n Save Ormiston
- Hubbards
- Abes Bagels
- PR Store
- Westfield Shopping Centres
- Whakatane Farmers (donating two cows – minced)
- Sharine Burns Real Estate – donating the Facepainters and the Koha for 200 Christmas Hampers
- Mercer Potato Plantation
To make this event happen we have targeted $8,000.00. To this point we have raised $2000.
