Ending with a smile

Its nice to end the week on a good note and with a smile.

We started the day picking up our supplies for breakfast from South Mall new world and were greeted with a bag full of socks and underwear. Kim had read our facebook post yesterday about Randwick park kids having no socks in this weeks rainy weather.

So this morning every child who came to breakfast with no socks was sent way with a pair on their feet and a spare pair in their pockets. Plus a smile on their faces. And the school office has plenty of undies in case of emergencies.

This morning the seniors at Glen Innes brought the school net books down to the breakfast club so that all the juniors could watch the Americas Cup race.

Which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

During the week we have been offered fresh fish for the comunity from a local fisherman which is fantastic. We are so lucky to have acess to such a great natural food source here in New Zealand.

A local grandmother thanked us today. The schools are heading off to school camp and she said her grandson would never have been able to attend normally. Thanks to donations we were able to help her out with extra clothes, toiletries and a suitcase for him.

Again it is the simple things which can make such a difference to these kids. Now this young man and quite a few others will get the great experiences that come with school camps.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
